George
As you know, I think you're an exceptional vintner.
Firstly you genuinely care for your clients. You want them to get value for money, and at the same time drink the spectacular wines that haven't quite been discovered yet.
Secondly you take the time and invest the effort in tracking down these undiscovered gems and getting hold of them. You seem to have excellent and long standing relationships with some great vineyards precisely because you got in there at the beginning and supported them -Glaetzer et al
Lastly, that Vasse Felix you sold me on Monday is spectacular. I couldn't help myself and I cracked open a bottle last night !
cheers

Dear George,
Claire and I wanted, firstly, to say thank you for dinner last week. It was good to see you and enjoy a couple more cracking wines.
On the latter, and broader, subject, I wanted to add my thanks for your help in sourcing wines for me over the last 4 years - can you believe it is really that long since you first supplied me with the Octavius for our wedding day !
Since then I have been utterly delighted with the wines that you have steered me towards, especially the big Shiraz's that I love to drink.
Specifically, Yalumba Octavius, La Testa and the Ben Glaetzer wines such as the stunning Amon Ra....not forgetting of course the fabulous Drappier champagne. Dom and Cristal eat your heart out at those prices !
In addition, thank you for convincing me to buy the wines that I don't care to drink. Some of the 'thinner' wines that, as you know don't appeal to me, but that I stuck in bonds thank to your wise words, have risen in value exactly as you predicted.
So, in short, your help in finding wines to drink and those in which to invest is much appreciated and may our relationship long continue.
Many thanks as always
Stuart

Six years’ ago a friend invited me to a wine tasting hosted by Premier Vintners where I met George Ledger.
Since then I have never bought a bottle of wine anywhere else! George’s philosophy of providing drinking wines of superlative quality has never waivered. Why buy a £5-£10 bottle in the supermarket with no way of knowing the quality and taste when for the same price you can have it delivered with tasting notes, food recommendation and of the highest quality.
I have been so impressed with the quality and service quality of the wines that I have introduced more than 50 of my own clients to this company, all have reported back with glowing reports
In addition they have hosted several corporate and charity tastings for us with unparallel success in stunning London locations with anything up to 350 people. Aligning our brand with that of Premier Vintners has been a very sound business decision.
They have also helped me establish an investment portfolio of wines which, bearing in mind I run a financial services company with 100 staff, has produced exceptional returns over that time.
What a pleasure to deal with a company whose customer service, client experience and mantra of high quality in everything they do never falters. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Kind Regards
Craig

"Premier Vintners is a small company offering a personal touch. George and his team are always turning up delicious gems at reasonable prices. He is always on hand to offer his expert advice, ideas and his recommendations (which he delivers with passion and enthusiasm) almost all invariably live up to their billing!"

I have loved wine for as long as I can remember but I was always lead by advertising and wine snobbery. I was then introduced to George who has shown me the light. George has taught me not to automatically buy the Chablis or the Châteauneuf du Pape as quite alot of the time you are paying for the name and the kudos that proceeds it. Indulge yourself in some stonking new world wines or wines from little know producers around the world at a quarter of the price. This is where George comes into his own, he has the most comprehensive knowledge and unbiased views about wine that I have ever come across. You may not at first recognise the bottle or producer but what he offers is both incredibly reasonably priced and stunningly good wine!
Premier Vintners is not just a retailer who has a comprehensive stock of wine at great value, but more importantly a learning experience in the world of wine.
And as a great man once said " Life is far far far too short to drink bad wine! "
Cheers!

Couldn't let today go by without passing huge thanks on to you for many things. In no particular order, thank you for the fabulous champagne glasses which are truly beautiful …
Thank you also for organising the dinner last night. I thought the evening was fantastic and I can think of few times when I have eaten better food or drunk better wine and almost none where the combination has worked quite as well. The Rustenberg/fish worked really well together for me, although it was surpassed by the extraordinary and sadly no longer available shiraz (struggling to remember what it was called - sorry!) with the duck. Truly memorable… So thank you for your thought and expertise in putting that lot together for us.
Thanks also for doing what you do. I am thoroughly enjoying being a member of your 'thing' which brings me pleasure on many dimensions.

Am I going mad or does the Raydon Estate have to be open for 12-36 hours before you can drink it?
Rgds
Wine is great thanks.

"Recently I found Premier Vintners were supplying a wine that I am particularly fond of; Jim Barry , The Lodge Hill Shiraz 2002. I promptly ordered a couple of cases. They mistakenly sent me the 2005 vintage which was not quite what I was looking for. When I contacted George Ledger he profusely apologised and arranged a very quick delivery of the correct vintage. We then arrived at an extremely advantageous settlement for me, where i kept both deliveries at what I considered to be an excellent price. Whilst on the phone sorting this out George also raved about some of the other "hidden gems" he had sourced and persuaded me to take another mixed case of some of the most unusual and varied red wines I've ever come across. This delivery, also very prompt, was accompanied with detailed personalised tasting notes and food advice for each and every wine. Something I found to be very, very informative and way beyond the call of duty. If ever there was an example of how to turn a mildly dissatisfied customer into a huge fan, then this is it. Well done George and the team at Premier Vintners.

“When you first meet George at Premier Vintners, the first thing that you get is truly infectious enthusiasm; shortly followed in my case by twelve bottles of wine when he rose to the challenge of sending a mixed case to show off what he could do. Two years and many, many cases later, George is still absolutely consistent in finding and suggesting great wines. I have completely abandoned trips to the usual high street chains and slightly more worryingly have almost abandoned doing anything other than what George says.
Fortunately, and much to Premier Vintner’s credit, delivering good value is a core part of what they do. When George calls with his fabulous £7.95 Muscadet he is as excited by his find as when he is suggesting one of the stunning and rather more expensive Woodsides.
What you will notice over time is that the longer you are with Premier, the better George gets at offering a truly bespoke service. It’s a wonderful mix of selecting wines that George thinks you should like from your buying and comments and complete one-offs purely because he has found something new and exciting.
Whilst I am sure that George will offer superb wines to all sorts of discerning buyers, if you are in my camp of more enthusiasm than time, just sit back and relax and let George and his team look after you. My advice? Get George to send a “show off case†and be converted.â€

Can I have 3 more cases of the Domaine Roche Audran.
As a mate of mine put it is so good it will make your bollocks tingle. Not sure quite what that translates on the Parker scale but very nice!

- Carlo Malka
I would like to order a case of mainly whites and am wondering what you would strongly recommend at the moment. I would be interested in purchasing some decent Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, but as always am happy to be guided towards anything you thing is worth a slurp.

Dear George,
Having been a delighted Premier Vintners client for more than four years, I really feel that is time that I dropped you a line to thank you.
I knew nothing about wine four years ago and only have a limited knowledge now (only because I cannot be bothered to learn and why do I need to when I am in safe hands with your expert advice?). You have the unique ability to inspire those around you, understand and remember ones taste preferences then source the very best wine that I have ever tasted. Having occasionally bought wine elsewhere from Majestic etc I have always regretted doing so simply because 99% of the time your wine is superior to anything that I have tasted at more than double the price. Unlike any other wine merchant that I have ever brought from, you often sell down if you think that I would prefer a less expensive wine.
I definitely do not have biased taste buds either. My now future father in law is quite a wine connoisseur having his own very well stocked cellar in South Australia. You advised and supplied me with the wines to complement my Christmas lunch a couple of years ago. "Not only the best ever food matches, but some of the very best wine that I have ever enjoyed".
I have and will continue to recommend Premier Vintners to my friends and family.
Thank you again.
Yours sincerely,
David

Thanks for the tasting last week, very impressed. Hopefully you have received via Rachel an order for me. I have attached it to this (just in case you want a duplicate on email). Also, I asked Rachel to reserve 4 tickets for the tasting next Monday. Could I possibly make that 5? I have recommended you to a few friends, and based on the website they are v.keen to come and purchase some cases.
- Adam Boast
I was wondering if you have any of that wonderful Jim Barry Shiraz lying around. If so, I'd like to reserve a case for delivery in the second week of December (although happy enough to pay for it upfront.)
We so enjoyed our first case of the Rochford that we would like to order another.

- Mark I.
Just wanted to tell you how much my friend and I enjoyed the tasting last Monday.
As you know I tend to be a bit of a Francophile when it comes to wine, but I have to say
that this tasting has really turned me on to Oz, and there was some stunning wines on offer.
For me, the absolute star of the night (apart from the gorgeous brunette on table 3), was the
2001 La Testa Cabernet Sauvignon, with the dangerously good Jim Barry The McRae Wood
coming a close second, with Raydon Estate Tails South Cabernet a worthy third.

- Mike Bayliss
George As per usual the last lot of recommendations were spot on so could you please send more!
- Mark Pilcher, Citibank
Oh well, I'd better reserve a couple of dozen bottles - I'll trust your judgment which has been very good so far!
- RJ Stevens….
Hi George,
Thank you for this. Your wines, your service (and our chats from time to time) are much appreciated.

- Richard Hitchcock
Absolutely fantastic stuff, loved it. 12 won't be enough!!! How much stock do you have???
Thanks George - selections thus far have really been very good indeed!
Flora isn't a big chardonnay fan usually but loves the Allan Scott. As an idea can we do the following:…

Excellent tasting, I'm sure you'll be very busy with orders over the next few days.
If possible, I'd like to put together a mixed case, 2 bottles each of the following:

"I have been buying my wines from Premier Vintners for over three years now and I can say that in all that time the quality of the wine has been consistently very good. Certainly when you compare your wines to those of other companies such as Laithwaites, well the truth is you can't. With Laithwaites you may save a few quid however the drinking experience doesn’t come close to your wines. Keep up the good work George"
- Clive Hinton, Dynamica Design
As a non wine expert , it is nice to have a company that can talk to me in a language that I can understand , and who not only try to understand what it is I like , but who also succeed in this - every time. They never try to sell me 'out of my price bracket' and when they recommend something out of my comfort zone, it always works.
I have recommended others who have also bought, and they also feed back positively to me.
Oh yes, I also bought the best wine I have ever tasted from them , at a price you would pay for a 'nice ' bottle from a supermarket - class will out!

- William Adkin
….†I appreciate calls from Premier Vintners, I usually end up buying a case or two with excellent results so far.â€

Dear George,
I've been wanting to write and thank you for your latest recommendations concerning certain wines that I like and which have turned out to be delicious!
Only someone of your knowledge would know that the "Amiot Chassagne 1996 1er Cru Les Vergers" was in perfect condition as was the "Matrot Les Combettes 1996 Puligny" and consequently a fabulous tipple; and the "Drappier 1990 Carte-D'or" champagne is austere and beautiful and a new find for me; but I have managed to keep my hands off the "Glaetzer iconic Amon-Ra": I hope to be around to drink it when it reaches its peak!
Also, George, a rather belated thank you for the excellent wine tasting you had the other night, introducing your guests to some wonderful Italian wines and it really added to the evening to actually have the wine makers present from Italy. Again, a real find for me was the "Torre Rosazza maker of Colli Orientali del Friuli Ribolla Gialla 2006" and his "Bricco dei Guazzi Gavi 2006". And of course the "Castelvecchio" reds were amazing: I have tried one of my bottles here of the "Numero Otto 2006" and even though young, it makes very pleasant drinking!
I hope all is going well, and looking forward to more marvellous recommendations.
With best regards,
Yours,
Dee Wakefield

I first met Premier Vintners owner George Ledger five or more years ago and have been buying my drinking and investment wine from them ever since. What I like about PV is their overall approach to customers and particularly the attention to detail George has when matching his wines to customer's tastes. It's a real personal service. PV are incredibly professional and we have worked closely together to build up my investment portfolio where their advise and overall product and market knowledge has proven invaluable. A great business with fine ethics. I look forward to buying my wine from PV for many years to come.

Premier Vintners selection and their undisbuted talent for discovering exiting wines of great quality is unrivalled and provides excellent value for money. Customers are in very good hands indeed whatever the occasion. The wines on offer are always unique and the information provided with each offer is sheer testomony of the indebt knowledge about the trade of George and his team. Also wine tastings organised by Premier Vintners are occations not to be missed.

- Achim Vogt, Deutsche Postbank
I enjoyed your last tasting even more than previous tastings. Great venue.
Useful to have the representatives from the vineyards to explain wines and add local colour’
The tasting list with your comments was very comprehensive’
I did not know much about Italian wine but with your help I feel I have improved my knowledge.
I wish you good luck and hope the business continues to grow and prosper, do not grow too big and still give the wonderful service to your customers.

As a regular customer of Premier Vintners for almost 5 years I am consistently amazed by the quality and value of the wines on offer. However, the key thing for me is that George personally takes time to discuss the wines he has supplied to me to find out my views and over time has therefore built up a detailed understanding of which wines "float my boat" and what just doesn't suit my palate. I therefore get a very tailored service and this gives me wines that I love, but also much better value - George would sometimes recommend a £6.99 wine rated 85 by Parker that suits me rather than a £15.99 bottle rated 93 whose virtues would simply be lost on me. Even better, he now understands (through my feedback) the preferences of my wife and mother in law, so I can keep in their good books by plying them with George's specific recommendations for them, which invariably hit the spot! But that is not to say that all the wines I get from George are the same - the variety of wines is fantastic and with each order he always makes suggestions of new wines that I can investigate alongside my old favourites. I used to be a customer of Laithwaites but will certainly never go back - too impersonal and at any price range I would back George's recommendations to blow their wines away. As for the supermarket wines, I sometimes pick up a couple of bottles when they are 50% off, but only to put in the spaghetti bolognese - it would just hurt too much to cook with George's wines!
