Vintage:
2002
Varietal:

Syrah/Shiraz

Origin:
Australia, South Australia, Langhorne Creek
PV Tasting Note:

A huge, dramatic nose of Smokey bacon fat, jammy blue and black fruits is followed by a dense, full-bodied, layered wine crammed with ripe fruit. Its deep texture has now developed beautifully, sumptuous thickness, lushness, and admirable purity combine to give this full-bodied, flamboyant Shiraz a compelling character. I suspect there is more tannin than the wine is currently revealing. This is a mouth filling, gorgeously proportioned, well-endowed wine which is now drinking wonderfully well. Last Tasted April 2008

Food recommendation:

Will go with Beef of any kind, grilled or fried steak, well hung game, stuffed cabbage, Chilli, curries, BBQ, very mature cheeses.

Ideal Drinking:
From now through 2019
Producer and winemaking:

The Borrett family has been growing vines in the Langhorne creek region since 1915, their crop is divided equally between themselves and Drew Noon, the quality of their fruit can only be described as first class, and whilst they display none of the marketing skills showed by Drew Noon the wines they produce are of world class stature.

15

Cork
