PV Tasting Note:

This is one of the finest sweet Muscat I have ever come across. Produced from small yields of 20 Hectolitres per hectare of late harvest grapes hand picked and hand selected from botrytis laden fruit. This wine is beautiful, refined, elegant, precise, graceful and above all feminine. Pale straw in colour and light bodied as only Muscat can be, but with such exemplary focus, explosive aromatics of orange blossom, tinned peaches, old Grand Marnier Liqueur and liquefied pineapple, it defies belief. Containing 125 Grams of residual sugar per litre this awe-inspiring natural beauty conquers the palate, intensely flavoured and yet it is so light on its feet, with admirable acidity and exceptional balance. Truly great stuff, for an unbelievably low price.

Food recommendation:

Because of the high levels of fresh fruit within this wine it will best suit any sweeter deserts including chocolate based puds. Perfect with Apple Strudel, Bread and Butter pudding, Crème brûlée, Pears in red wine, Pavlova or Vacherin’s and Baclava. This will also suit all manner of soft and blue cheese.

It should be consumed within 10 days after opening the bottle.

Ideal Drinking:
Now through 2010
Producer and winemaking:

Year in year out Château Grès Saint Paul produce a succession of great wines of true value, which if tasted blind amongst some of the better known wines of the Rhône selling at four and five times the price they would be in the top selection from virtually every vintage. The two partners of the Château, Jean-Philippe Servière and Philippe Salasc are without doubt two of the finest life loving and generous people one could ever wish to meet, totally committed to producing the finest wines available throughout the Languedoc region. The legion of awards won over the past decade stands as testament both to their artistic skill and their stoic workmanship.

Vinification is done at ultra low temperatures to obtain the clearest and most aromatic wines possible, mutage (added alcohol) to stop the ferment and retaining 125 grams of natural sugars.
