PV Tasting Notes
The 2009 Rosso di Notre offers easy drinking, ever so pretty, ripe and juicy with open aromatics, fresh and fruity red berries laced together with floral and sweet spices in a medium bodied style, fine tannins, and a juicy, wonderfully balanced finish.
If you want to impress people with a wine from a great house, this is a very good choice.
Independent Review90 Points Steve Tanzer International Wine Cellar Oct 2010
Bright, dark red. Musky redcurrant, licorice and herbs on the nose. Juicy and bright, with good poise and focus to its red fruit and tobacco flavors. Finishes long and smooth, offering more vinosity and elegance than body or power. This highly satisfying midweight offers above-average complexity for an entry-level wine.
Serve this young Tuscan wine with antipasto, barbecues, beef stroganoff, wind-dried beef, stuffed cabbage, roast guinea fowl, pigeon, rabbit, risotto, shepherds pie, strong meats, game and strong flavoured pasta dishes.
Bolgheri, on the Tuscan Coast is the home of one of the World’s finest vineyard sites, Tua Rita makes a 100% Merlot wine here which has quickly become legend, The Redigaffi. Located just outside of the medieval town of Suvereto, this small estate is kept like a pristine garden, every branch and leaf is in place, yields are kept very low, the floors of the cellar are spotless, and everything is in perfect order. The wines being made here are of the highest quality, compared equal to Chateau Petrus by Robert Parker, Tua Rita’s Redigaffi was the First Italian Winery to be awarded the perfect 100 Point score by Mr Parker himself, there is only one other. Whilst the Redigaffi has taken all of the limelight, another wine made at the estate is somewhat underpriced, Giusto di Notri, this often ranks in the top 250 or so wines of the world, a Bordeaux Blend and is equal to a 2eme Grand Cru Classe wine, but sells for considerably less money.
