PV Tasting Notes

Deep ruby/purple with a highly aromatic nose offering black raspberry, bitter chocolate and sweet oak tones (this is made in entirely in Seguin-Moreau barrels). Sweet and fruity, with ripe, harmonious acidity framing the dark fruit and mineral flavours and contributing energy. Long and serious, totally fabulous for the vintage but with considerable early sex appeal.

Ranked by Robert Parker as TOP 6 wines of 2007!
Only 1 point behind Lafite Rothschild, Ausone, Bellevue Mondotte, Pavie, and l'Eglise Clinet.

Independent Review

93 points Robert Parker - Wine Advocate April 2010
This is another astonishing effort from this small estate. The 2007 is one of the sexiest, most opulent yet powerfully concentrated wines of the vintage. There is not a hard edge to be found in this voluptuously textured, deep St.-Emilion. Abundant aromas and flavors of chocolate, charcoal, blackberries, and cassis offer a thrill a second. Enjoy this beauty over the next decade.

This sexy Merlot is best with Rack or Saddle of Lamb, will also suit very well Roast Leg of Lamb, Shoulder or Fillet of Beef, Sautéed calf’s liver, Partridge or Grouse, fried sweetbreads or Kidneys with a rich sauce e.g. béarnaise, will also suit roast ribs of Beef or grilled Rump.

Note From Robert Parker's Web Site....
This is the ultimate garage wine, or as the French call it, vin de salon, since the five-barrel production is kept in proprietor Puzio's living room! This is great stuff, but nearly impossible to find. Does anybody out there have some to sell?
