PV Tasting Notes
Lovely intense colour without being overworked, the nose is ripe and quite fine, the plate is more velvety than usual, and it develops more aromatics in the mouth, there are no tough edges here, the tannins are sweet and it finishes with some lovely dark fruit and coffee flavours.

This has a well defined, lifted nose that is showing less of over-ripeness than other Saint Emilions. Raspberry, strawberry and a touch of tobacco, coalescing in the glass. The palate is very well balanced, good acidity, filigree tannins and great harmony towards the pure black cherry and plum finish. Good length. Very feminine. This is a superb effort. Bravo. Tasted March 2010.

A powerful, inky/purple color is followed by notes of graphite, crushed rocks, incense, blueberries, and blackberries. The flavors are concentrated, pure, dense, thick, and unctuous with plenty of tannin lurking under the surface. However, the tannin is well-concealed by the wine’s enormous fruit, glycerin, and density. It should evolve for 15 or more years. As are many recent vintages of Grand-Corbin-Despagne, the 2009 is realistically priced.
