PV Tasting Notes
Seppeltsfield will shortly be recognised as one of the world’s finest producers of fortified wines, why the previous owners could not see the jewels in their possession is a major wonder to me. The winery started in 1851 and they have material dating back to 1878, which it must be said of the few older wines which have been tasted and rated recently have all garnered perfect scores, truly amazing stuff. I had the pleasure of a private tasting of 10 of their wines from the 1800s and they were all stunning. Their NV Cellar No.9 is an incredible wine for the money, difficult to rate due to its low price, I have only tasted one wine in the price range its equal and that was the Yalumba Muscat released some five years ago (rated 98 points by Robert Parker) and this is up there. It has a dark amber colour, offers fragrant floral, honey, caramel, nuts and raisin notes, but there’s also some chocolate in there, spectacularly sweet, full bodied and unctuously textured. This wine should not be missed, buy it by the case and lock it away, it should drink well for a decade or more. April 2009

Light brown. Highly fragrant aromas of spicy red berries and cherry, complemented by strong notes of toffee and orange marmalade. Oily and deeply concentrated, with sweet orange and cherry flavors and strong finishing grip. Very rich and sweet but not cloying at all.

Seductive, this is sweet but balanced, aromatic with cherry-supported milk chocolate, peanut and walnut flavors, lingering on the generous finish. Drink now.
Established in 1851, Seppeltsfield houses Australia's greatest collection of fortified wines dating back to 1878. At the cornerstone of this group is the unique Para Centenary Tawny collection with consecutive vintages going back to 1878. We believe Seppeltsfield is the only winery in the world to release a 100 year old wine each year. The Seppeltsfield fortified wine portfolio incorporates a wide range of styles including sherry, muscat and tokay as well as port style wines.
