PV Tasting Notes
The 2006 Heytesbury Chardonnay is a superb example of a Margaret River Chardonnay from a slightly cooler vintage. The aroma is very complex with subtle hints of lime zest, pineapple and stonefruit with beautifully integrated spicy toasted oak notes in the background, while continuing to give off a pretty jasmine tea aroma.

The light gold-colored 2006 Heytesbury Chardonnay was barrel-fermented and aged in barriques for 10 months. The enticing perfume offers up mineral, hazelnuts, and tropical fruits leading to an elegant, medium-bodied Chardonnay that is balanced and dense enough to evolve for several years. This lengthy effort should be at its best from 2010 to 2016.
Vasse Felix is one of Margaret River’s pioneer wineries, founded in 1987. The fruit is all estate-grown.

Light, bright yellow. Oak-spicy orchard and pit fruit aromas are brightened by lemon zest and dusty minerals. Weighty apple and pear on the palate, with creamy, smoky leesiness adding complexity. Manages to be energetic and rich at the same time, finishing with very good breadth and cling. I'd drink this one on the young side.
Serve this with any fish or seafood in a buttery sauce and you’ll be in heaven also suits white fish simply grilled or meunière, Dover Sole, Turbot, Halibut, Brill, Scallops, Roast Veal, organic Chicken stuffed with herbs or truffles under the skin.
Vasse Felix was the first commercial vineyard and winery to be established in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. Today they produce a formidable range of wines that rank among the finest released in the state each year. In some years the Chardonnays and Cabernets are exceptional, at the top end are the Heytesbury wines, talk about power and style, these wines have them in abundance.
