PV Tasting Notes

Deep purple edged red, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz, displaying many characteristics of each of the component parts, blackberry, raspberry, plum, liquorice and chocolate all bathed in savoury spices, there’s even a touch of marzipan. Soft velvety mid palate, almost streamlined, whilst this is by no means the most complex of wines it does deliver a really pleasing mouthful finishing with soft nutty, coffee flavours.
Independently rated as one of Australia's Best Value red wines.

Independent Review

89 points - Huon Hook - Sydney Morning Herald. Sept 2007
This drink-now red blend from an increasingly impressive Margaret River Producer is an excellent value. Some bacony, earthy, savoury aromas give way to complex dark berry, crushed-leaf and fresh earth cabernet-driven aromas, while the palate is savoury and big on flavour. Definite tannins lead to a clean dry finish. This is a good everyday red that comes into its own with savoury foods.

Match this to a hearty or savoury meat dish, sturdy casseroles, Game pies and most robust cookery, Lamb chops, rare roast beef, will also of course suit hard cheeses like Manchego or aged Pecorino.

Watershed Wines has been set up by a syndicate of investors, and no expense has been spared in establishing the vineyard and building a striking cellar door area, with a 200 seat restaurant recently completed with beautiful views over the vineyards and surrounds. The medal and trophy tally they have accrued to date is testament to the commitment behind this exciting new winery. Situated towards the southern end of the Margaret River region, its neighbours include the famed Leeuwin Estate and Voyager Estate.
