PV Tasting Notes
The steely Albariño from Pazo de Señorans this year exhibits a straw/green colour as well as superb linear purity, so tight for the present but loads of texture, with coxing it reveals a massive slate/mineral aspect, Napoli Lemon, pear, apricot and a spicy, honeyed, rich, super elegant bone dry style. My knowledge and history of these wines suggests that it will develop beautifully over the next six months and drink well through 2010. Having produced five of the Worlds six top rated Albariño wines over the period 2000-2005 inclusive, this new vintage is a further testament to the artisan efforts of this wonderful estate. If you want to drink this gorgeous style of wine, why look anywhere else. Tasted 15th February 2007. This is the only producer where we have purchased consecutive vintages, now seven, since setting up the company. Independently rated as the "World’s Best" Albarino produced in 2006.

Pazo de Senorans is always a candidate for Albarino of the vintage. The grapes are sourced from the lowest-yielding, oldest vines in Rias Baixas. The wine is tank-fermented in small vats, and aged on fine lees with batonnage. Light gold-colored, it offers up a fragrant aromatic array of spring flowers, peach, citrus, and lemon meringue. Crisp, focused, and intensely flavored, it should be consumed now and over the next 3 years.

Hazy yellow. Spicy tangerine and pear scents are complicated by honeysuckle, quinine and ginger. Zesty citrus and green apple flavors are refreshing, biting and focused. This dry, stony, very persistent albarino is uncompromising in structure but packed with fruit too.
Perfect accompaniment to any seafood or shellfish dish, will also suit Asparagus, Avocado, Cheese Fondue, Chowders, Dim Sum, Escargot, Fish terrine, Cured ham, Houmous, Chicken Live Pâté, various Salads and Salade Niçoise, Smoked Salmon and Trout.
Pazo de Señorans are always among the richest and most deeply flavoured wines from every vintage, and yet just as consistently among the freshest and most impressively structured. The wines show superb fruit, like fresh white peach and ripe melon, along with light floral aromatic notes and citrus laser-like acidity in the finish.
The wines are developed this way by authentic protagonists, who little by little, are developing a great body of work with the Albariño variety, including pioneering experiences like the raising in deposit and the maturing of much more complex wines as in the Selección de Anada
