The 2006 Ribolla Gialla is a notch above the usual shrilly acidic wines of this variety, lightly golden in colour, floral, honeyed, wafting, and subtle, but expressive and elegant as well, ample and long on the palate with light tropical notes to balance the citric fruit and a long, vibrant finish. It will easily last another five or six years and should improve for at least three. Tasted Sept 2007
90 points Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar April 2008 Bright lemon-yellow. Lemony aroma, joined by pretty floral and mineral hints. Begins lean and refined, then reveals an unexpected juiciness to its bright tangerine, apple and apricot flavors. Bright acidity and a long mineral-driven finish make this remarkably successful ribolla downright gulpable. Ribolla is always a sure bet at this estate.
It is excellent as an aperitif, with oysters and Venus clams and steamed white–meat fish, lovely with Risotto with almost any flavours, and if you want to just slum out for the night, nothing flash, have it with KFC!
