The 2006 Ercavio Blanco is a super bargain, a delicious white offering flowers with a hint of tropical fruit on the nose, flavours of gooseberry, citrus and melon, all balanced by crisp acidity. The finish is surprisingly lengthy.

Greenish straw. Racy citrus and green apple on the nose, with a kiss of white pepper. The vivid lemon zest and apple flavors are firm and dry, finishing with good focus and lift. Excellent value here.

The 2006 Ercavio Blanco is produced from 90% Airen (Spain’s most widely planted variety) and 10% Sauvignon Blanc from 80+-year-old vines located at high elevation. The result is a light straw-colored wine with aromas and flavors of citrus zest, melons, and lemon-lime. Ripe and well-balanced, this refreshing wine offers excellent value.
A superb Summer and Autumn Gulper, this would suit so many food stuffs including picnics, Snapper, Sea Bass, Salad Nicoise, Sushi, Oysters, something like Scalops and Snow Pea stir fry would be ideal, it would also team well with stuffed Zucchini Flowers or Lemongrass Chicken. A great value wine, simple use your imagination.
Ercavio are the first wines of Mas Que Vinos, a group of 3 winemakers & friends: Alexandra Schmedes, Margarita Madrigal and Gonzalo Rodriguez. They renovated an old family winery in Dosbarrios, a town located in central Spain, south of Madrid and 60 km east of Toledo.
La Mancha is today one of Spain’s most exciting wine regions where investment and winemaking efforts (such as Mas Que Vinos) meet ideal grape maturation conditions (continental climate combined with high altitude vineyards).
The soils are a calcarious-clay combination.

NOTES: Airen is a local, indigenous variety that is being preserved
by the property.
