PV Tasting Notes
The 2001 Cape Vintage Port has a saturated dark ruby colour. It has a creamy, sweet, red and black cherry fruit, and mocha-scented nose. Its profound personality reveals plums, prunes, cherries, and some pipe tobacco flavours that coat the taster's palate. It is well-balanced, softly textured, and intensely ripe. It is seamless, having none of the alcoholic disjointedness often found in young ports after it has been open for 8 hours or more. It also possesses a long, harmonious finish.
Independently Rated as the "Worlds Best Ruby Port" Produced by Price.

An excellent value, the Cape Ruby Port (#3258 certification seal) is a blend of 50% Tinta Barraca, 45% Touriga Nacional, and 5% Souzao. Its sweet red fruit and chocolate aromas lead to a medium-bodied, suave personality. Cherries, raspberries, and strawberries can be found in its attractive, flavourful, softly-textured, and slightly warm (from alcohol) character. It should be drunk over the next 6 years.
