In 1994 they left two barriques of 100% Merlot to make a wine without blending, Redigaffi would become a cult wine here and which has quickly become legend. Located just outside of the medieval town of Suvereto, this small estate is kept like a pristine garden, every branch and leaf is in place, yields are kept very low, the floors of the cellar are spotless, and everything is in perfect order. The wines being made here are of the highest quality, compared only equalled by Chateau Petrus according to Robert Parker, Tua Rita’s Redigaffi was the First Italian Winery to be awarded the perfect 100 Point score by Mr Parker himself, there is only one other. Whilst the Redigaffi has taken all of the limelight, another first wine made at the estate is somewhat underpriced, Giusto di Notri, this often ranks in the top 250 or so wines of the world, a Bordeaux Blend and is equal to a 2eme Grand Cru Classe wine, but sells for considerably less money.
